We want everyone who supports us, or who comes to us for support, to feel confident and comfortable with how any personal information you share with us, will be looked after. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use and store your personal information (this means any information that identifies or could identify you).

 Any records and information held by Mercury us at the expressed consent of the individuals concerned. This includes all documentation, contact and membership information given for purposes of communication and also for validating AGM voting and Mercury membership as stipulated by the constitution.

Records and contact information are maintained either for the duration of membership or for as long as written permission is granted. This includes non-members who may give expressed permission to receive information from Mercury.

Records and contact information will be maintained in a confidential and secure manner by members of the Carrying Group or a member appointed by the Carrying Group.

Your data is stored by the Mercury-UKAACP within the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it?

We only collect data from people who contact us or enroll on an event we hold. We do not collect data from people who visit our website.

If you fill in the contact form or an enrolment form from our website we will use this information to communicate with you via email.

For reference, we hold the following information about you, after you have given it to us.

· Given/First Name

· Surname/Family Name

· Gender (optional, and only if supplied)

· Home Address (if provided)

· Email Address

· Practice Address (if provided)

· Telephone numbers (home, mobile, and practice – whichever is provided)

For Mercury-UKAACP members also:

· Details related to your practice status (i.e. your training, qualifications, professional bodies registrations, and professional insurance)

· Information about your payment for the Mercury-UKAACP membership and about canceling your membership (if relevant)

 

We do not share your data with anyone else. If you also wish to be kept up to date of events by any of our affiliates you will need to contact them directly.

Mailing list

If you would like to join our mailing list you will need to give your expressed permission to us to include your email address, to inform you about the events we might organise. If you receive emails from us and no longer wish to do so, you can email us back and we will remove your details from our contact list.

If you want us to change or delete the information we hold about you then please do let us know via email and we will do so to the furthest extent possible allowing that we may need to retain some information about you to ensure that we are compliant with any legal requirements, or for the purposes of public safety or our own internal complaints processes.

Our website includes hyperlinks to, and details of, third-party websites.

We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy policies and practices of third parties.

Any services we use to manage events and send emails, adhere to GDPR requirements. We do not pass on any of your data to any other party.

The hosting facilities for our website are situated in the UK. The competent data protection authorities have made an “adequacy decision” with respect to the data protection laws of each of these countries.

When you first visit our website, we will ask for consent to set any cookies (and to process any personal data collected by these cookies) which are not strictly necessary to make our pages work: you will be able to set your preferences at this stage. Where cookies are strictly necessary, we consider that we have a legitimate interest in processing the personal data they collect.
